New details coming to light in the ‘Wizkid-copyright saga‘ have it that the Ojuelegba singer may be having yet another issue to deal with, and this time it is with veteran Dancehall singer Blackface.
In a new song titled Killah, the former Plantashun Boiz star brags about his street credibility and how he makes the parties go wild.
He also alludes that the Afro pop star allegedly stole his melody.
Blackface actually called out Wizkid on the song Killah and seeing as this is a ‘critical’ period for the youngster following the recent club fight and the recent issues involving him using lyrics and melodies without duly crediting the owners, it only makes things messier than they already are if these claims can be substantiated.
In the 4.29 seconds clip, Blackface sings in his trademark reggae-influenced style and the song has a catchy hook.
He goes:
“Industry is packed up with some wannabes,
“That’s why Wizkid try steal me melody,
“But them copycat na gat me energy,
“Me burn them and send them to the cemetery,
“Tell dem copycats them playing with fire,
“Tell dem be original or them better retire.”
“But them copycat na gat me energy,
“Me burn them and send them to the cemetery,
“Tell dem copycats them playing with fire,
“Tell dem be original or them better retire.”
The rhythm is a little fast-paced and club-ready, but by and large, it is a low-budget video clip that gets the job done.
